Locations of moving or missing objects are getting important information for context-aware applications which try to get the locality of an object, and then provide services pertaining to the object. To position an object, most systems use a predefined coordinate to compute object location while sensing the appearance of the target object. Usually, it is troublesome and costs much to define the base coordinate in advance for most object positioning systems, especially when the target object is locating in an unknown environment. To reduce the cost and complexity of object locating system and improve the accuracy of location, this paper proposed an Object Finding System based on RFID technology to identify the localities of target objects in buildings. In this paper, we introduce the design concepts of the proposed system as well as the algorithms used to calculate the object locations. In addition, the experimental results show that it is a feasibility study. Unable to display preview.

Introduction: Nowadays, the health care providers are faced with limited resources and rising costs. Information technology IT provides tools and processes required for measurement and control of the process and ultimately improves patient care in the centers of healthcare provider. In this regard, RFID is one of the new technologies and applications that benefits the healthcare industry. But its application in healthcare industry is faced with a lot of challenges and requirements that are discussed in this study. Method: This compressive review aimed to determine the challenges and requirements for applying radio frequency identification RFID technology in the hospital system. For this purpose, search engines and databases e. Results: Despite the critical applications of RFID technology in the hospital system, such as tracking patients, equipment, medications, identification and authentication, recognition and enhancing quality, and patient safety, in order to enhance quality and patient safety, this technology is faced with challenges such as technological, economic, institutional, cultural, administrative, social and human problems.

Ygal Bendavid 1 and Luc Cassivi 2. Luc uqam. Supply chain pressures have caused some firms to reexamine their processes. In doing so, firms are exploring emerging technology such as RFID to enable seamless exchange of information within their supply chain. In this paper an attempt is made to i clarify the ambiguity surrounding RFID vs. In doing so, the focus on business improvement has moved from the single firm to consider the entire supply chain. Since , short after mandates to adopt the technology have been required by major prime contractors such as Wal-Mart and the US DOD, RFID technology has attracted the interest of the academic community.

RFID technology and its applications in Internet of Things IoT Abstract: Radio frequency identification system RFID is an automatic technology and aids machines or computers to identify objects, record metadata or control individual target through radio waves. Connecting RFID reader to the terminal of Internet, the readers can identify, track and monitor the objects attached with tags globally, automatically, and in real time, if needed. This is the so-called Internet of Things IoT.

The study analyzes Radio Frequency Identification RFID technology developments reported in tourism industries, methods used, contexts covered, and provides an overview of the wide range of ways that RFID is being applied to improve tourism processes in hotel. The study develops a research framework: RFID Technology Application Model and stresses that RFID application brings many benefits for hotel, the study summarizes their readiness on different attributes into the two approaches: operations-centric approach and technology-centric, and evaluates the major applications of the two approaches for the case study of hotel in Taipei. The findings show that different RFID applications in tourism industry lead the different benefits. The study offers hotel some managerial implications of how to gain benefits, and make suggestions for internal operating management, as well as recommendations for future research directions. It would be beneficial for future research to study similarities and differences in best practices for RFID implementations not only between different sectors within tourism, but also across industries. Applying RFID Technology in Tourism Industry: The Case Study of Hotel in Taipei

The purpose of this paper is to briefly discuss some aspects of radio frequency identification RFID technology, potential applications, and challenges including scientific methods that will help to study the impacts of RFID implementation on businesses. As an introductory paper, this paper conducts a brief literature review, provides personal reflection on RFID technology, and consolidates expert opinions. It brings up the importance of business impacts as a result of new RFID systems introduced to organizations. Barjis, J. Emerald Group Publishing Limited.

The tag technologies will include backscatter, chip-less RFID and other alternatives to the classical chip and antenna combinations. The perspective is one of the hardware physical and mathematical foundations as opposed to enterprise software communicating with readers and the commercial product numbering systems. The primary objective of IJRFITA is to establish a sound scientific basis for the wireless communication and powering of low cost identification and sensing elements that are attached to or embedded in products and items. The reported basic knowledge will provide a sound platform for the advancement of RFID technology to provide the predictability necessary to meet research and industry needs for this technology that connects to the fundamental things of this world.

Identification is a powerful capability, useful in classifying, counting, and organizing objects. These operations are essential to many aspects of modern life, including manufacturing, the logistics of distribution, and the various stages of supply chains, and they operate on scales ranging from the level of the individual consumer to that of global trade. In the past, identification was done visually—by observing characteristics of objects.
