EYC

Director of Youth Ministry Marvin McLennon says, "EYC will begin meeting Sunday, September 13 at 5:00 p.m. and meet every other week through the school year." Make sure you're on Marvin's email list by sending him an email with your address and/or text number.

EKC

EKC -- Episcopal Kids Club will be an opportunity, every other week, for youngsters in grades 3-6 to grow spiritually while also creating new bonds, friendships, and a familial community through games and activities all in a safe, welcoming environment. Send Marvin an email for more information, and to get on the EKC mailing list.

Day School Fall Fest 2015 is Friday, October 9!

Lindsay & Earl Turner are this year's Church-Day School Carnival liasons, and they invite you to click here, or on the image, for information on becoming a Parish Partner to this popular and important Day School fund raiser!

Nursery Worker Openings

The St. James nursery is staffed with skilled, loving caregivers, trained in child safety and CPR techniques.

Open four hours each Sunday morning, and other events on occasion, we currently have openings in this paid position. We will sponsor child safety and CPR training for the right person.

If you, or someone you know would be who you'd want caring for your own child, please have them call or email Mary Boutwell for more information and to arrange an interview, at 225-387-5141 ext. 229.

What traditions remain valuable, to physical or spiritual health, and what needs to be reviewed, renewed, or re-considered in light of our mission? 7:30 a.m. - Rite I service in the church.

As You Are service begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Twelve Apostles.

9:00 a.m. - Rite II service in the church with organ and cantors.

10:00 a.m. - Fellowship and coffee in the Parish Hall Parlor. (Christian Formation fall term begins September 13.)

11:00 a.m. - Rite II service in the church with organ, cantors and, the last Sunday of casual choir month! Choir rehearsals begin this Wednesday, September 2, 7:30-8:30 p.m., in the choir room on the second floor of the Parish Hall.

5:00 p.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite II in the Chapel of the Twelve Apostles.

Centering Prayer this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. in the CSF Suite on the third floor of the Ministries Center.


It's Casual Choir Month

You are invited to come sit in the choir stalls during August. The choir will not be robed in August, and you may just find you like the view from there, your pew neighbors, and decide to join the choir on a long-term basis. The St. James Choir welcomes you!

ECW Deanery Meeting is Saturday, August 29

St. Paul-Holy Trinity Episcopal Church at 607 East Main, New Roads, hosts the Deanery Meeting of the Episcopal Church Women. Registration is open 8:00-9:00 a.m. An $8 donation for lunch is requested. R.s.v.p. by August 22 to Jackie Cage (225-774-7979) or Judy Knecht (225-665-6261).

Treble Choir

Treble Choir Director Eric Johnson will be visiting the fourth and fifth grade music classes at the Day School over the coming days to share information and enthusiasm for the St. James Treble Choir. Bad Girls Book ClubBook Club Fall 2015 Meeting Plans and Reading List

We will now announce the book and meeting date two (2) months in advance for those of you who would like extra time to read the book. If you like, you can read every other book and take two months to do it!

The September meeting is Monday, the 21st, and for this meeting, we are reading The Truth According to Us by Annie Barrows. The October book is Close Your Eyes, Hold Hands by Chris Bohjalian, and we'll be meeting on Monday, October 19.

We will, generally, meet at La Madeleine's on Jefferson Hwy. at 6:00 p.m. Let Monica Murphy know you're comming by email to her at monicabr@att.net or text 225-335-3572, and don't forget to bring a sweater!
