SERVICES THIS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 29
The First Sunday of Advent

Paris Peace
Happy New Church Year. We begin Year C of the Revised Common Lectionary with an interesting discourse from Luke, related to the first Sunday of Advent, how? As we prepare for the birth of the Christ, we hear signs of what sounds like "end times." But, the light will break through the darkness, even the darkness of our own time, of our own day. The patience of Advent reminds us God is with us at all times, unto the ends of the earth.

7:30 a.m. - Rite I service in the church.

As You Are service begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Twelve Apostles.

Children's Church: Meet in the Choir Room on the second floor of the Parish Hall between 8:50 and 9:00 a.m. for an age-appropriate lesson on the day's reading, an activity, and music with Jody Hanet.

9:00 a.m. - Rite II service in the church with organ and cantors. Read about the Treble Choir, in concert at LSU on December 1, below.

10:00 a.m. - We'll gather in Bishops Hall with coffee, cookies, and Fr. Ralph leading an Opening to Advent class while we prepare our home Advent Wreaths. More here, and here.

11:00 a.m. - Rite II service in the church with organ and choir.

5:00 p.m. Holy Eucharist, Rite II in the Chapel of the Twelve Apostles.

Centering Prayer this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. in the CSF Suite on the third floor of the Ministries Center.
