Nursery Worker Openings

The St. James nursery is staffed with skilled, loving caregivers, trained in child safety and CPR techniques.

Open four hours each Sunday morning, and occasional weekday evenings, we currently have openings in this paid position. We will sponsor child safety and CPR training for the right person. This is a great gig for college students.

If you, or someone you know would be who you'd want caring for your own child, please have them call or email Mary Boutwell for more information and to arrange an interview, at 225-387-5141 ext. 229.

Director of Youth Ministry Marvin McLennon says, "Look for the start of EYC in early September, AND we're looking at something new and exciting for grades three through six!"

EKC -- Episcopal Kids in Community -- will be an opportunity, every other week, for these youngsters to grow spiritually while also creating new bonds, friendships, and a familial community through games and activities all in a safe, welcoming environment.

Visit Marvin's booth at the Ministries Fair and learn more about the great plans for EKC and EYC this fall!

The Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Vine and Branches

Those who eat my flesh and drink my blood abide in me, and I in them. Many of the Israelites hearing these lines couldn't accept them. Blood was not drunk, but offered on the altar as "the life of every creature is its blood." And, abide? The Greek original was "meno" - to remain. The Old English "abide," meant to wait, sojourn, dwell, and endure. By partaking in Jesus' gift, his life is in our veins, and he is with us, always.
