Share in the Sharing
The lay people who help distribute communion at Eucharist are officially known as Eucharistic Ministers. And we can always use more, at all of our services. It is often said that we could not have Eucharist without help, and that is certainly true. But it's not even about the distribution of the bread and the wine. That would eventually happen even with fewer people, it might just take a little longer. What it is really about is sharing Christ with our brothers and sisters, the way that Jesus Christ shares himself with us. He shares, then we share.
Sharing in the Sharing – that is what Eucharistic Ministering is all about. If you are interested in helping at the altar and are at least 16 years old, or if you are already serving but would like a refresher course, please join us at one of our training sessions: Wednesday, March 13, at 3:30, or Sunday March 17, at 10:00. Both will meet with Fr. John in the church. Please let him know that you are interested at jmiller@stjamesbr.org so that he can expect you.
