SERVICES THIS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18
The Twenty-first Sunday after Pentecost

Eye of the Needle

It's not the best PR for our patron, James, in this Sunday's Gospel as he and his brother, John, tell Jesus they want to be the winners in the season finale of "Top Disciple." One can imagine the brothers then fighting between themselves, yelling out, "Shotgun!" for the right-hand seat, thinking of the power and prestige in that position. But, they've missed the point, again, haven't they? Jesus is not going to the cross so that we don't have to, but calls us to follow his path to the cross; not to be in the power seat, but to be servant to all.

7:30 a.m. - Rite I service in the church.

As You Are service begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Twelve Apostles.

9:00 a.m. - Rite II service in the church with organ and the St. James Treble Choir.

10:00 a.m. - Christian Education classes for young children (second floor of the Parish Hall) and adults in the CSF Atrium on the third floor of the Ministries Center. Read more.
