2019 Hymnathon

Our wonderful Treble Choir is again attending the Royal School of Church Music summer course in Houston, Texas in June. So that as many choristers can attend as are willing to make the commitment, the Treble Choir will be hosting a Hymnathon fundraiser on Sunday, May 19 at 4:00 p.m. in St. James Episcopal Church.

Get out your hymnal (or, find all the hymns in the Hymnal 1982, here), pick your favorites, and you can "buy" a hymn -- or two, or three -- to be sung during the Hymnathon. Any hymn in the 1982 hymnal may be selected. A donation of $10 per verse is suggested, but any and all contributions are appreciated.

Look for Hymnathon Donation envelopes in the foyers, narthex of the church, and parloror, look for a Treble Choir member with donation envelopes; or, make your donation online, and enter your receipt number on the donation form. Online giving is easy: You can use our regular online donation link (choose "Other Donations," and put "Hymnathon" or 800600 in the memo box pop-up), or use our event donation page, here.

No Day School Eucharist, this morning, as school has been cancelled due to inclement weather.

A Diocesan Pilgrimage to Holy Land is being planned for 2020. Fr. Rob Courtney, pilgrimage director and rector of St. Paul's in New Orleans, will share his own pilgrimage experiences and details about the 2020 trip. He has a passion for this journey's capacity to open people's hearts and minds to Jesus Christ in new and transformative ways. Even if you can't make the 2020 trip, come "travel vicariously" at St. Luke's Pope Hall, 8833 Goodwood on Monday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. Mediterranean refreshments served. A pilgrimage brochure is available here.

Open meetings of AA are held each weekday at noon in the Activities Room on the first floor of the Ministries Center.

Holy Eucharist with healing prayers is celebrated each Wednesday at noon. This simple service lasts about 35 minutes, and is held in the Chapel of the Twelve Apostles, just inside the Parish Hall door on N. Fourth Street.

The EfM Grads Group will hold the final meeting of the academic year, hosted by Nancy Jo and Hickey Poirrier on Thursday, May 16, at noon. Contact Nancy Jofor more information.
