Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

The National Hurricane Center has placed a Tropical Storm warning on Baton Rouge for this weekend. Please do what you can to stay safe in the storm. I know you will join me in praying for everyone who will be impacted by "Barry."

If your home or property receives damage in the storm, then please reach out to me by phone (225-270-3448) or email at cduncan@stjamesbr.org. Even if you do not need assistance, we would like to know. If you do need assistance, then we can put together a team of people to help.

Godspeed,
CRD+Fr. Chris

*Should circumstances warrant, we will re-activate our check-in and response pages as used in #Flood2016. Bookmark our homepage, now, as a reminder!

Baton Rouge citizens helping remove people and personal items from flooded homes in August 2016.

Sunday Service Schedule

  • 10:30 a.m. - Holy Eucharist, Rite II in the church
  • 5:00 p.m. - Holy Eucharist, Rite II in the Chapel of the Twelve Apostles

Nursery Hours: Our professionally-staffed nursery is open Sunday mornings this summer between 10:00 a.m. and noon, for infants of six-weeks to children four years old as parents desire and are in worship and fellowship. The nursery is located directly off the Parish Hall foyer. Your infants and young children are always welcome in church.

Children's Church is offered during the 10:30 service. Children depart to the chapel for their own sermon and program, with opportunity to stretch and wiggle, and return to church in time for communion with their parents.

Fr. Ralph reminds you to save your Community Coffee Proof of Purchase labels for the Day School! Community Coffee's owners, the Saurage family (parishioners of St. James) have given back to schools through this program for over 29 years. There are drop-off boxes in the foyers of the Ministries Center and Parish Hall, or, Fr. Ralph says to hand them to him.

St. James Outreach and How You Can Volunteer

In the past, St. James has given outreach grants to area charities. This year, we are pausing that program to discern how we as a parish want to proceed with our outreach efforts. Meanwhile, there are many ways you can volunteer. Please click on the link below to find out more.
