Glory Into Glory Class Promo

This Sunday at St. James

January 6: The Epiphany

The Adoration

The Adoration of the Magi was executed for the church Santa Maria dei Servi in Perugia by the young Perugino. In 1543 it was transferred to the church Santa Maria Nuova in Perugia.
The head at the left is supposed to be the self-portrait of the young artist. The influence of the Florentine school can be observed in the figures of the Madonna and Joseph. Click the image for a larger view.

Sunday's Service Schedule
  • 8:00 a.m. - Holy Eucharist, Rite I, in the church
  • 10:30 a.m. - Holy Eucharist, Rite II in the church
  • 5:00 p.m. - Holy Eucharist, Rite II in the Chapel of the Twelve Apostles

Nursery Hours: Our professionally-staffed nursery is open Sunday mornings from 8:45 a.m. 'til noon, for infants of six-weeks to children four years old as parents desire and are in worship and fellowship. The nursery is located directly off the Parish Hall foyer. Your infants and young children are always welcome in church.

This Sunday, January 6, at 9:15 a.m.:

  • Children from PreK-3 age through fifth grade meet on the second floor of the Parish Hall in sections for three levels
  • Adults are invited to Glory Into Glory with Fr. Chris Duncan, in Bishops Hall. Read more about this three-week series, here.

Children's Church is offered during the 10:30 service. Children depart to the chapel for their own sermon and program, with opportunity to stretch and wiggle, and return to church in time for communion with their parents.

ook Club web site

The Good Book Club is an invitation to all Episcopalians to join in reading Saint Paul’s Letter to the Romans during Epiphany 2019. Episcopalians will start reading Romans on January 7, 2019 and read a section every day (except Sundays) through the Epiphany season.

The Gathering of Leaders has gathered its members (creative, hope-filled, young clergy in the Episcopal church) and collected brief reflections on leadership, transformation, and growth based on the daily readings for Romans.

Click here to watch a video from Presiding Bishop Michael Curry on the Good Book Club, learn more about Gathering of Leaders, and sign up to receive these reflections daily in your email throughout Epiphany.
