Nursery Hours: Our professionally-staffed nursery is now open Sunday morning from 8:45 a.m. 'til noon, for infants of six-weeks to children four years old as parents desire and are in worship and fellowship. The nursery is located directly off the Parish Hall foyer. Your infants and young children are always welcome in church.

Sunday School Invitation

Sunday Christian Education, for all ages at 9:15 a.m.:

  • Children from PreK-3 age through fifth grade meet in their graded sections on the second floor of the Parish Hall, up the stairs from the foyer.
  • Youngsters in sixth through twelfth grades meet in the Youth Room on the first floor of the Ministries Center (parking lot side of Fourth Street).
  • Daily Dose of Scripture, an adult study of the Sunday readings, meets this fall in the Parish Hall small parlor.
  • In the Beginning: A Study of Genesis is the first series in our Adult Forum, led by Fr. Chris Duncan. The class meets in Bishops Hall.

Thanks to the Children's Council, look for the NEW Busy Bags, hanging from the coat rack in the bell tower, this Sunday!


After church, please drop off on a rear pew near the church doors so we can make sure it's ready for next week.


Acolyte Training & Refresher Course this Sunday - We'll meet in the church immediately following the 10:30 service with Fr. Chris to go over acolyte duties at St. James. This training is for both new and experienced acolytes. We'll finish in about one hour.


Thanks and congratulations to Margaret Harrell and Anna Grace Kurtz for five years of acolyte service. Your leadership is appreciated!

Vestry Nominating Committee Accepting Recommendations

The Nominating Committee to select candidates for election to our Vestry, at the January 2019 Annual Meeting, is asking for your help in recruiting and nominating potential candidates. Please feel free to nominate as many parishioners as you believe qualified and interested, including yourself. (One recommendation per form, please.) Deadline for submissions isĀ Wednesday, October 10, 2018.


Day School Application Page
Church Calendar Link

Holy Eucharist with the Day School is held Friday mornings school is in session, at 8:15 a.m. in the church. Day School families and parishioners are invited to attend and experience a special joy in worship with this student-led service.


Open meetings of AA are held each weekday at noon in the Activities Room on the first floor of the Ministries Center.


Holy Eucharist with healing prayers is celebrated each Wednesday at noon. This simple service lasts about 35 minutes, and is held in the Chapel of the Twelve Apostles, just inside the Parish Hall door on N. Fourth Street.


Sts. Agnes/Edith/Monica ECW Chapter will not meet in September. This group will meet on the third Tuesday at 10:00 a.m., at St. James Place, starting October 16.


The James Gang trip to New Orleans on September 27 is fully booked. Please contact Mary Boutwell, Director of Lay Ministries, to inquire about wait-list status.

Hearty Breakfast

September has a fifth Sunday, so it's Hearty Breakfast time! Plan to join us in Bishops Hall starting at 8:00 a.m. for a full, hot breakfast, or sign-up to volunteer as a St. James greeter/server to our guests. Read more, here.

EYC News

Sunday, September 23: A Homegroup gathering from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with dinner, games, service project & compline -- at Bella & Helene Jung's home in Prairieville. Bring a swimsuit, towel, and fishing pole if you want to use the pool, hot tub, or catch-and-release lake. Open to sixth-12th graders; come after practice, if needed. R.s.v.p. to Mrs. Annie.


EYC News

Sunday, September 30: EYC Escape Room - 6:00 'til 7:30 p.m. - St. Luke's and St. James are co-hosting this unique escape room experience at St. James. Other youth groups from across the diocese will join in. Definitely a don't-miss event, and you will want to bring friends!
