Sunday's Gospel reading relates the story of St. James' mother asking Jesus for recognition for her sons, considering their service to Him. As Jesus reminds her, "...whoever wishes to be great amount you must be your servant...just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve..." As we begin a new chapter in the story of our parish, may we heartily and willingly remember and live the life of service asked of us. |

We'll leave from the Youth Room at noon and drive to Grace Episcopal in St. Francisville to meet up with their youth group and go hiking at Clark Creek. Youth should wear hiking shoes and clothes that can get wet/muddy. Bring hat, sunscreen, water bottle, snack for trail, and change of clothes/shoes in a backpack. A Note from Our Gumbo 2018 Co-chairs |
Dear Parish Family:
Our Gumbo 2018 accounts are closed, and we wanted to thank everyone who made our 67th year one for the record books! We had our busiest Friday in Gumbo history (serving over 250 meals) and a weekly average of 177 diners per Lenten Friday. |
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who supported Gumbo with their time and dedication. We are so blessed to have a parish family that enjoys working together to support the work of Christ in this world.
Gumbo 2018 raised more than $15,000 to support the ministries of the church in our community. We are so grateful for everyone who supported Gumbo, spreading the word to friends and neighbors, buying quart after quart, and most importantly, your support of the ministries of the Church. Gumbo continues to be an important mission in our parish life.
Blessings,
Susan Rolfs and John Sykes
