The Visitation

Luca della Robbia (Florence 1399-1485) created The Visitation. Not only an artistic masterpiece, depicting Mary and Elizabeth differently than other, more popular works, it is a technical masterpiece, as well. Read more, here.

Glory into Glory Class

"Finish, then, thy new creation; pure and spotless let us be.

Let us see thy great salvation, perfectly restored in thee;

changed from glory into glory, till in heaven we take our place,

till we cast our crowns before thee, lost in wonder, love, and praise."

Love divine, all loves excelling by Charles Wesley (Hymnal 1982 #657)

From generation to generation, the prayer of the Church is that we will be transformed from one degree of glory into another. In other words, we celebrate the rich inheritance of God's blessing and yet also open ourselves to continued transformation from Glory into Glory and strength into strength.

Beginning Sunday, January 6, all adults of the parish are invited to undertake deliberate and directed conversation about how God has called and continues to call the good people of St. James to be transformed from Glory into Glory.

This three-week program led by Fr. Chris will have two components, each week: a short Sunday presentation followed by small group discussion, all during the Sunday School hour starting at 9:15 a.m. in Bishops Hall.
