Sunday's Service Schedule
  • 8:00 a.m. - Holy Eucharist, Rite I, in the church
  • 10:30 a.m. - Holy Eucharist, Rite II in church with organ and choir
  • 5:00 p.m. - Holy Eucharist, Rite II, in the Chapel of The Twelve Apostles
Sunday Education & Events

Nursery: Our professionally-staffed nursery is open Sundays between 8:45 a.m. and noon for infants of six-weeks to children four years old as parents desire and are in worship and fellowship. The nursery is located directly off the Parish Hall foyer. Your infants and young children are always welcome in church.


All Classes are on Thanksgiving break. Come by the Parish Hall parlor for refreshments, visiting, and to view the St. James Artists Guild and CAAH One Stop Artists Guild fall show!

No Friday Eucharist today. The Day School and church offices are closed for Thanksgiving break.


Please plan to return your Angel Tree gifts this week. Our partner agencies need pick-up and delivery arrangement time. (It sounds as though they don't have any reindeer.)

Artists Guild Show


Morning Prayer with the Day School is at 8:15 a.m. on Monday mornings when school is in session. All are welcome.


Open meetings of AA are held weekdays at noon in the Activities Room on the first floor of the Ministries Center.


Wednesdays at noon: A service of Holy Eucharist with opportunity for healing prayers is held each week in the Chapel of the Twelve Apostles. This quiet, mid-week service lasts about thirty minutes.


Meditative Yoga will meet on Wednesday, November 29 at 9:30 a.m. Class is held in the CSF Atrium on the third floor of the Ministries Center. The gentle poses used are accessible to most and everyone is invited to attend.


The Bad Girls Book Club next selection is The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion. We're meeting on Monday, December 4 at 6:00 p.m. Our January meeting will be on Monday, January 15 and the selection is The Bone Lady by Mary Manhein, world renowned forensic anthropologist, and we are very excited to announce that Ms. Manhein will be joining us for the evening to discuss her book! We meet at La Madeleine's on Jefferson at Old Hammond Hwy. Let Monica Murphy know you'll be attending via email, or text to 225-335-3572.

  • Catered spaghetti dinner by Ruffino's in Bishops Hall
  • Advent activities for children and tweens (nursery open) at 7:00 p.m.
  • Acclaimed one-man dramatic presentation for adults and older youth in the church at 7:00 p.m.
  • Coffee & conversation following the show
  • $10/adult - children free! Reservations required.

2017 Christmas Dinner

Advent Home Eucharists are scheduled on Wednesday, December 6, and Wednesday, December 13. We'll gather at 6:00 p.m. at a parish home for Eucharist led by Fr. John Pitzer, then enjoy brief fellowship over a light dinner of finger-food, all brought by those attending. We'll be on our way home by 8:00 p.m. Due to space limitations, these are adults-only, registration-required events. Sign-up using the button, below.

2017 Christmas Dinner

The 2017 Christmas Dinner at St. James, for our homeless neighbors and those living in area shelters, is December 10, and Alice Nelson & Nancy Jo Poirrier say there's still a place for you to help at our annual dinner for our neighbors living on the streets or in area shelters:

  • Any time - Contribute to the “Christmas Dinner and Gifts” fund. Put that on the memo line and send check to St. James. (Or, donate online, here - choose "Other Donations" and put "Christmas Dinner" in optional memo box.) Sponsor one gift bag: Text STJAMESBR XmasDinner $15.00 to 73256.
  • Now 'til December 3 – Collect toiletries (samples, gifts-with-purchase, travel/hotel size) for the gift bags and put in the collection box is in Ministries Center foyer.
  • December 3-8 - Collect fruit for table decorations and gifting and deliver to the Ministries Center foyer.
  • Friday, December 8 at 11:30 a.m. - Be part of the team filling gift bags in Bishops Hall foyer.
  • Saturday, December 9 at 10:30 a.m. – We'll be decorating tables in Bishops Hall for the dinner, creating a holiday atmosphere.
  • Sunday, December 10 at 11:40 a.m. – It's Feast Day at St. James – A Christmas Dinner for the Homeless – Volunteers report at 11:40 and the event will be over about 1:30 p.m.
