  • 8:00 a.m. - Holy Eucharist, Rite I, in the church
  • 10:30 a.m. - Holy Eucharist, Rite II in church with organ
  • As You Are - Rite II service at 10:30 in the Chapel of the Twelve Apostles
  • 5:00 p.m. - Holy Eucharist, Rite II, in the Chapel of The Twelve Apostles
Sunday Education and Events
  • Nursery: Our professionally-staffed nursery is open Sundays between 8:45 a.m. and noon for infants of six-weeks to children four years old as parents desire and are in worship, fellowship, or education time. The nursery is located right off the Parish Hall foyer. Your infants and young children are always welcome in church.


Christian Education classes starting January 8 at 9:15 a.m.:

Sunday morning Christian education programs for children ages three through 12 meet on the second floor of the Parish Hall.


Children's Church is for youngsters who would like to spend time during 10:30 services in age-appropriate lessons and activity before returning to their families in time for communion. Gather at the back of the church during the sequence hymn (just before the Gospel reading).


Young people in grades six through twelve gather in the Youth Room on the first floor of the Ministries Center at 9:15 a.m.

The Episcopal Church Class

  • The Episcopal Church with the Very Rev. Joe Reynolds begins at 9:15 a.m. this Sunday, in the CSF Atrium on the third floor of the Ministries Center.

  • The location for "A Dose of Daily Scripture: Reflection and Discussion of the Sunday Readings," is now in the reception area of the diocesan offices on the third floor of the Ministries Center. The Revs. Ralph F. Howe, Jr., and John M. Pitzer, as well as lay leaders, including Annie Knazs Jung and Ed Henderson, read and discuss the Sunday readings from the lectionary.

Church Calendar Link

Open meetings of AA are held daily at noon in the Activities Room on the first floor of the Ministries Center.


CHANGE IN SCHEDULE: Meditative Yoga will be held on first and second Mondays this spring, 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the CSF Atrium on the third floor of the Ministries Center, led by Carmen Board; and, on the third and fourth Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m., led by Margaret Culbertson. The relaxed styles used by Margaret and Carmen are accessible to almost anyone, and everyone is invited to attend.


A service of Holy Eucharist with Healing Prayers is held each Wednesday at noon in the Chapel of the Twelve Apostles. Take a few minutes mid-week to give yourself time for prayer and communion.

Next Sunday, January 15, is Louisiana Marathon weekend. Please check your usual route to church against the marathon route map, here, to avoid frustration or delay.


The Sts. Agnes/Edith/Monica ECW Chapter will meet next Tuesday, January 17 at 10:00 a.m., at St. James Place.


The 2017 Addiction Recovery Retreat for Women, held by the diocesan Addictions Recovery Ministries for those women in recovery, who wish to be in recovery, or interested in recovery spirituality, is January 20-22 at the Solomon Episcopal Conference Center, facilitated by Sr. Michelle Lister, a member of the Sisters of St. Frances for over 50 years, in recovery since 1984, and holding a Masters of Divinity as well as a licensed drug and alcohol counselor. The 2017 Annual Parish Meeting will be held Sunday, January 22, with voting for vestry candidates and Associate Vestry slate at the 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services, followed by the business portion of the meeting at 11:30 a.m. in Bishops Hall. The Associate Vestry hosts the Parish Breakfast from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. in the Day School cafeteria.



Hannah's Highlights
  • Sunday morning classes at 9:15 a.m. for sixth through twelfth graders -- the EYC age group -- return this Sunday morning, January 8

  • Our first offsite EYC gathering will be this Wednesday, January 11 from 6:00-7:30 p.m., with dinner provided! Judy Foil is hosting young people in grades six through twelve at her home: 434 Castle Kirk Drive, 70808.

  • FLAMINGO FLOCKING IS BACK! St. James youth will be in the parlor after the mid-morning church services all during Epiphany to arrange a flocking for you! $25 sends a flock of flamingoes to friend or foe; $50 keeps the St. James flocks out of your yard. All proceeds go toward summer mission trip expenses (Cathedral Urban Service Experience at Christ Church Cathedral, Houston!) You can pay online here, or download your flocking order form, here, and turn it in Sunday at the EYC table in the parlor.

  • MISSION TRIP PLANS - St. James will join St. Luke's on their 10th anniversary trip to CUSE (Cathedral Urban Service Experience) at Christ Church Cathedral in Houston in two trips: (1) May 31-June 3 for those currently in grades 6-8; and (2) July 23-28 for those currently in grades nine-12. Look for the mandatory informational meeting invitation in your email inbox, soon. You can sign up for her list at the button below!

  • CONFIRMATION PREPARATION begins Sunday, February 5 at 9:15 a.m.! If you, or your youth age 13 and up, is interested in receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation at the June 4 visitation by the bishop, please register with Hannah. Download the Confirmation Class Info and Agreement form, here, and forward to Hannah Rothermel ASAP. Classes will be held two Sunday mornings/month (February 5 & 19, March 5 & 19, April 2 & 23, May 7 & 21) at 9:15 a.m. in the Activities Room on the first floor of the Ministries Center to cover the foundations of our faith from the Catechism from the Book of Common Prayer.
