Christmas Service Schedule

This Sunday at St. James
December 25: The Feast of the Nativity - Christmas Day

Shepherds in the Field

The Angels Appearing to the Shepherds is by Thomas Cole, 1801-1848. Cole was America's first great landscape painter and founder of the Hudson River School. The Angels is Cole's largest canvas, produced in two months during the winter of 1833-34. Some scholars have noted that the middle shepherd bears a resemblance to Cole and may be an idealized self-portrait. Click the image for a larger view.

Sunday's Service Schedule

The only service this Sunday, December 25, will be our 10:30 service, in the church.

Sunday Education and Events
  • Nursery: Our professionally-staffed nursery will be open for the 3:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service. The nursery is closed on Christmas Day. Your infants and young children are always welcome in church.
  • All Christian Education Sunday morning classes are on holiday hiatus. Children and adult classes resume on Sunday, January 8; youth classes resume on Sunday, January 15.

Christian Education classes starting January 8 at 9:15 a.m.:

Sunday morning Christian education programs for children ages three through 12 resume, on the second floor of the Parish Hall.

Children's Church is for youngsters who would like to spend time during 10:30 services in age-appropriate lessons and activity before returning to their families in time for communion. Gather at the back of the church during the sequence hymn (just before the Gospel reading).

Sixth through twelfth graders -- the EYC age group -- returns January 15! Enjoy some fellowship time in the Parish Hall parlor, or try out one of the adult classes on January 8:
