Welcome Ministry Materials
Invite - Welcome - Connect

The welcome brochures, seasonal post cards, and business-size cards around our campus are physical tools to help parishioners invite and welcome others to St. James. Please help yourself to the materials you may use to share St. James with friends, associates, neighbors.

"We'd love to have you visit us at St. James!" on a postcard, mailed or delivered to a neighbor is so easy. Or, hand one of our cards to someone you know who may need the support of church family or pastoral care.

Treble Choir Hymnathon Fundraiser!

Our wonderful Treble Choir is making plans to attend a Royal School of Church Music summer course in Houston, Texas in June. RSCM America, founded in England more than 80 years ago, is committed to educating church musicians in the traditions of the church and to help them grow musically and spiritually. Our choristers will have the opportunity to work and study with some of the leading musicians and singers in The Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion.

The course tuition is $587.50 per chorister, including their music, but not including travel to and from Houston. So that as many choristers can attend as are willing to make the commitment, the Treble Choir will be hosting a Hymnathon fundraiser on Sunday, April 17 at 6:00 p.m.

Get out your hymnal (or, find all the hymns in the Hymnal 1982, here), pick your favorites, and you can "buy" a hymn -- or two, or three -- to be sung during the Hymnathon.

Donation envelope forms are around the campus, can be obtained from a Treble Choir member, or, make your selection and donation online! Turn in your envelope to a Treble Choir member or director, put in the offering plate, or hand to a staff member, please.

Jr. High Rally

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. --Matthew 28:19

What is Jr. High Youth Rally? Jr. High Youth Rally is a retreat weekend for youth in grades 6-8. Rally is designed by the youth and adults on the Diocesan Youth Leadership Committee and staffed by youth and adults from that committee. Rally is designed to be a fun, relaxing retreat weekend at the Solomon Episcopal Conference Center that combines presentations by youth, small group discussion, and worship with games, activities, music, and fellowship. Rally is designed to be welcoming to everyone who attends and the goal of the weekend is to make sure that everyone is included fully in the community.

Who can attend Rally? Jr. High Rally is open to all youth in grades 6-8 from the Diocese of Louisiana, and friends of any religious background. While the topics presented and discussed will have a Christian focus, we welcome all young people who have a willingness to participate fully in the weekend regardless of their religious affiliation. You need not be an Episcopalian to attend, however you must be committed to engage in theological reflection from a Christian perspective.
